WHEN the Minister of Transport drafts VT regulations for the use of the Severn Bridge he will bear in mind requests that there should be clear, statutory reasons for banning particular vehicles from using the emssing.

This promise was made last week on behalf of the Government by Lord Beswick when the Upper House gave a second reading to the Severn Bridge Tolls Bill. It would be advisable to have the conditions under which a vehicle could be banned as closely defined as possible, conceded Lord Beswick.

The necessity for this had been urged by Lord St. Oswald.
