HESTAIR-DENNIS, the National Bus Company and Duple Coachbuilders are jointly developing a new luxury coach to help meet the future requirements of National Express.
An initial batch of ten coaches built to NBC specifications will be based on Dennis Falcon Vee chassis with Duple Super Goldliner high-floor bodywork. The rear-engined Dennis chassis are to be powered by a Perkins TV8.640 turbocharged engine coupled to a fully automatic Voith D854 gearbox incorporating its own built-in retarder.
The coaches are to be built to a high specification and equipment is expected to include full air suspension.
