Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

see that one of our South Shields readers, Stan Young, has had his company in the local news recently. He is the fourth generation of Youngs to run the family transport business—now William Young (South Shields) Ltd—and his great-grandfather founded it in 1870 with a handcart.

Now, with a staff of around 40, the company has a widely diversified haulage business, based on iron and steel and timber. Stan's sights are now set on Europe, so if his 10-year-old son follows him Into the business he's likely to have a much wider-ranging task than any of the previous Youngs.

It always fascinates me that so many long-established hauliers started in, or dabbled in, the coach business, and Youngs are no exception, though I don't think they've regretted giving it up after the Second World War : there are enough problems in haulage alone these days, though this doesn't seem to bother the bubblingly enthusiastic Stan.
