SECRETARY of State Michael Foot's controversial Docks Work Regulation Bill will come up for second reading in the Commons next month, -according to the Department of Employment.

Last week the TUC's nationalised industry committee expressed general satisfaction with the Bill and declared its unanimous support for it subject to seeking amendments involving clarification rathet than major changes. However, fears among trade unionists in the road haulage industry that dockers would take the jobs oi some of their members have not lessened. And opposition by employers remains very strong.
