Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

marking of names, registered offices and weights on commercial vehicles under 30cwt used in the food trade? We understand that the registered office should be fixed within the cab or on the vehicle, but we believe this is to do with hygiene regulations, and not road traffic regulations.

AThe Food Hygiene (Markets, Stalls

and Delivery Vehicles) Regulations 1966 require that every vehicle "from which there is carried on any food business" must bear conspicuously the name and address of the person carrying on the business and the address at which the vehicle is garaged if different from the former. However, in England and Wales only, if a fleet number is displayed and the vehicle is garaged on the company's premises the garage address need not be shown if this is different from the main business address. To be conspicuous we consider that the name and address should be displayed on the outside of the vehicle.

Execution and Enforcement of the Food Hygiene Regulations is by the health department of the local authority.
