Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A tram parcel service has just been started in Glasgow, and its operation will be watched with much interest. The idea is taid to have originated with the Road Transport Board, and to have coma mended itself at once to many of the traders in the western capital. The Tramways Department decided to carry out an experiment between the city and Uddingston. For the purposes of the scheme suitable premises were secured at 128, St. Vincent Street, alas 030 gow, and at 39, Main Street, Uddingston.. At these offices parcels will be received and delivered, and it is proposed to make three double runs daily, except on Saturday, when there will be no afternoon despatch. A car of the old horse-drawn type has been adapted to electrical power : it is fitted with shelves and lockers.

The department simply acts as carriers between the two points, and neither collection nor delivery is undertaken. On the first two or three days the number of parcels carried was small, but it is expected that the traffic Will increase when the scheme becomes more widely known. The distance traversed is about eight miles, and the mote passes through a. number of thriving villages.

When the service emerges from the experimental stage, it will be extended to all the town and country districts which are tapped by Glasgow's great tramway system.
