IF, on passing Abbotsinch Airport, Glasgow, you think you have seen a double-deck bus belting up and down the runways, doubt not your sanity. Technicians have been testing a new electronic landing aid—a runway visual range system which enables the control tower to give a pilot an estimate of the visibility.
To test this requires a moving object at least 15 ft. high; what more ready to hand than a bus?
