IN the interests of increased productivity, the RHA is raising with the National Ports Council the need for improving arrangements for recording the arrival and departure of goods vehicles at docks.

The Ports Council is being asked to consider recommending all dock authorities to introduce control systems requiring drivers to book in and out at docks gates and to get their documents stamped with the times of entry and exit.

Registration Drop: Only 15,759 goods vehicles were registered in November, compared with 19,207 in November 1965. Total registrations from January to November were 214,270 (213,786 last year).
