Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

difficult to hire a motor van when one's van breaks down or goes in for repair, my members wonder if it would be possible to own a spare van between us. This vehicle would be the property of the Association, but I suppose the person who borrows it would pay so much per day to the central fund.

I know that some motor garage people hire them to bakers at so much per week. I wish to make it clear that the person using the van would find the driver.

Redboum. BAKERS.

[IN a case like this an association could own a van to replace others which may be out of commission. The van could remain the property of the association, but the members hiring it would have to provide the driver. In that case, the van would be considered as a " chattel," and the user would be responsible for operating it under his carrier's licence, which, we presume, in this instance, would be a C licence. Authority must be obtained for the temporary transfer of the C licence to the replacement vehicle. The ordinary Road Fund licence would be obtained by the association.—ED.]
