An agency driver gels a lilt to his wedding in an Eddie Stobart wagon Last week in Careless Torque we had someone using a truck to propose; this week we have someone using one as wedding transport, so perhaps there's a theme developing.

Agency driver Richard Young's dream is to drive for Eddie Stobart and while that dream has yet to come true he did get a lift to the church on his big day in one of Eddie's distinctive wagons.

Apparently Young had alwaysloked with his family that he wanted to go to his wedding in a Stobart truck, but didn't expect to be taken seriously. However his uncle, who works for Stobart, asked his boss if it could borrow a wagon for the day and the boss sportingly agreed.

Car drivers In the UK should take a leaf out the Aussies' book. Most truck drivers will tell you that one of the biggest pains on the road are cars. Not that car drivers are necessarily doing ton purpose, but they do cut in front of trucks without realising. We all know that a fully laden truck takes a lot longer to stop than a small car.

In Australia, a country renowned for its humongous roadtrains, they are very strict about cars pulling in front of trucks—especially roadtrains —and with good reason. When a car passes a roadirain it is expected to go a very long way before pulling in again, because if the car cuts in and breaks down one thing's for sure—it will end up resembling a pancake.

Though truck weights aren't as high over here, it might be worth educating 8-licence holders of the potentially lethal implications of cutting in front of LGVs.
