ONE TENDS to think of the USA , as a young man's country where
xecutives are likely to be thrown on the scrap heap at 40 and cremated at 50. I was surPriS.ed, therefore, to find that the 24 directors of General Motors Corporation in America range in age from 50 to 71. Only eight tare under 60. Two directors are women of distinction, one aged 52 and the other 63.
Elliott M. Estes, president and chief operating officer, is 64. He is also a director of Kelloggs.
