DEVON County Council i expected to decide oi October 23 whether th areas covered by Mid-Devon Exeter, and East Devon Die trict Councils will becom, one of Britain's first trill areas under the terms of th. 1980 Transport Act.
The area includes a larg number of stage carriag routes operated by Wester National as well as som operated by smaller indepen dents.
Western National, in corn mon with many British bu companies, is at presen facing a cash crisis and ther are local fears that compet, tion from new operators i, the free environment of a triE area could worsen this.
