[r. A. E. Darling, sales director of bro Ltd., leaves •for a tour of tralia, New Zealand and the Far East, le beginning of September. The Michelin Tyre Co. Ltd. will transfer Mr. A. X. Chaffraix from Holland on September 2 to succeed Mr. F. Gamier, who has retired as general sales manager. Mr. Chaffraix has previously held appointments for Michelin in the Far East and Middle East.
Mr. M. Stuart has been appointed sales director of Wessex Industries (Poole) Ltd. —a member of the Union Corporation Group-and Mr. G. F. H. LeRoy works manager in connection with the company's plans to extend its folk-lift truck range.
Mr. H. W. Burgess has been appointed transport manager of W. and R. Jacob and Co. Ltd., Dublin, and will be assisted by Mr. F. Metchette, fleet manager. Mr. B. S. Pim will continue to co-ordinate the functions of transport, warehousing and dispatch. Mr. T. D. Shields recently resigned as director of Crosland Filters Ltd. of Nottingham and is no longer associated with the Simms group of companies.
Mr. .1. Katavolos has been appointed sales manager of U.S. Industries Inc. (Great Britain) Ltd. Mr. Katavolos joined the company in 1959 and during the past year has been with the parent company in New York on assignments with the educational science, automation and international divisions.
A handsome presentation was made to Mr. A. P. Field recently by Mr. A. J. Rayment, chairman and managing director of Car Mart Sales Ltd., to mark Mr. Field's service of almost 40 years with the company; until his retirement earlier this year he was a director of the concern, having previously been sales manager.
