been placed in service by Dow Brewery, Ltd., Montreal, Canada. Based on a Diamond T 6-ton petrolengined chassis, the body of the van, which can hold 300 cartons of beer, is mounted on a hydraulically operated scissors linkage, by which it can be raised II ft. above the ground.

Because many deliveries in Montreal are to upper storeys, this vehicle has big advantages, particularly in respect of saving time„ improved safety and reduced inconvenience to pedestrians. Fewer men are also now required to make these upper-storey deliveries.

The body is made of aluminium andmagnesium and has six large roof flaps which can be raised to give added working headroom when unloading from the upper layers of the load.

A full account of the transport activities of Dow Brewery, Ltd., will shortly be published in The Commereial Motor, . I.P.E. CONVENTION
