£21 costs, I were imposed upon J. G. Fielder (Haulage), Ltd., Fitzwilliam Street, Bradford, at Bradford City Court last week, when the company admitted permitting drivers to work excessive hours and failing to cause records to be kept. Eleven drivers pleaded guilty to the charges against them and paid fines ranging from £6 to £48 and totalling 288.

One driver was said to have worked 23 hours out of 24 and 100 hours in five days. Mr. W. R. Hargrave, for the company, said that most of the offences were by " tramp " drivers often away for several days at a time.
