ANEW Guy forward-control passenger chassis. incorporating the Meadows 6DC.500 six-cylindered directinjection oil engine was announced on Tuesday. It is to be exhibited at the British Trade Fair in Helsinki from Sep-, tember 6-22 by OY Packalen AB, Guy's newly appointed distributors for Finland.
The 8.1-litre power unit is " square," with a bore and stroke of 120 mm. Maximum power output is 150 b.fi.p. at 2,200 r.p.m., whilst the maximum torque is 346 lb.-ft. at 1,300 r.p.m.
Air-hydraulic brakes, a five-speed constant-mesh gearbox and 9.00-20-in.
(12-ply) tyres are fitted. Maximum gross vehicle weight is 10 tons. Overall length is 30 ft. and width 7 ft. 6 in., whilst the wheelbase is 18 ft. 2 in.
NO PRICE RISE—YET
ALTHOUGH Guy Motors, Ltd., state that they have to bear increased costs because of the engineers' pay award of May this year and other imposts, they have undertaken not to advance the prices of any vehicle ordered and accepted for delivery before October 31. A long-standing defence contract has been cancelled and factory capacity released for civilian work.

The all-purpose body, manufactured by R. Murfitt, Ltd., Wisbech, Cambs, is designed for tipping and can carry either mixed or divided loads. An intake suction system is available for picking up granular loads, which can be discharged into overhead hoppers by blowing equipment.

NEW registrations of commercial vehicles in the Federation of Rhodesia-Nyasaland last year inereated by 30 per cent. to 6.994. The rate of introduction of new vehicles this year dropped, and from January to June 3,151 vehicles Were registered.
