Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Budget day has been and gone, and many forum users were glad the government had listened to the concerns %yelped by the industry and taken action to ensure It not only survives but thrives In this current economic crisis.

It's only a shame that the industry concerned was wind power and not road transport. It was noted on the TruckNet UK forums that there was no measure aimed directly at the transport industry to help us all get through the current downturn. Instead, we got hit again by increases in fuel duty.

The vehicle scrappage scheme is limited to a maximum of 3.5 tonnes gross weight and an age of 10 years or older. As has been pointed out, it is unlikely that anyone running a 10-yearold commercial vehicle under 3.5 tonnes is in a financial position to buy new anyway. The level of disillusionment on the forums is reflected in comments ranging from direct criticism of certain politicians and parties, to members having lost the will to vote — feeling that once in Westminster the politicians simply don't care.

By the time this appears in print, the final arrangements for Truckfest will be in place.

As we have mentioned in previous columns, both TruckNet UK and Truck & Driver will be there in force. With our biggest stand for years, we are determined to fly the flag for our industry. The TruckNet UK hospitality area will be discreetly located at the rear of the stand, where you will be abie to meet the team and take a breather from the hectic show.

If you're a driver or manager and you really don't get how forums can help you in your everyday business, drop by for a free cuppa and meet the users of the site who, in their own words, can tell you the benefits of taking part.

Finally, for the first time, a number of Commercial Motor/Truck & Driver journalists will be using Twitter to provide updates and opinions or the show as lt happens. Make sure you log an to www.roadtransport.connt truckfest for all our festival coverage.
