Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The container terminal in the port of Southampton is operated by DP World Southampton, and is owned by DP World and Associated British Ports.

DP World is cutting around 60 jobs in various areas of its workforce at Southampton.

Campbell Mason, DP World Southampton's managing director, says: "Job losses are extremely regrettable; we fully appreciate the impact that redundancies will have on the livelihoods of individuals and their families.

"This is the first time in more than 15 years that the terminal has implemented widespread reductions in manning, but, like so many businesses in the current economic climate, we must take tough but necessary steps in order to ensure the terminal responds to the severe decline in UK containerised trade volumes."
