• Sir James Duncan is to step down as chairman of the Transport Development Group at the end of August, when he reaches 65, after more than 30 years as a director of the group.

Duncan will be replaced by Martin Llowarch, 56, who joined the TDG board in February — he takes over as chairman on 1 September. Llowarch joined TDG from British Steel where he was chief executive from 1986 to 1991.
