Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

'BLANKET' LISTS WILL SUFFICE

IT wilt not be necessary for operators of big

fleets of food delivery vehicles to register each vehicle's garage address individually with the local authorities in whose area they operate, in spite of the fact that this registration is required from January 1, 1967, under new Ministry of Health regulations.

For an "amended" ruling on the registration requirements was sought and obtained last week from the Ministry by the Traders Road Transport Association. After informal talks the Ministry agreed that its regulations would be satisfied if operators gave a blanket list of fleet numbers to the local authorities concerned, without specifying exactly which vehicle was garaged in that area at that specific time.

This would appear to satisfy the main criticism of the new regulation—that notification of a vehicle's garaging place was unreasonable and impractical because of interchange between depots.

The TRTA is to consult its food operator numbers to obtain their reaction.
