TRAFFIC regulation methods and the operation of the speed limit in the United States are being studied by a Ministry of Transport delegation which left London by air on Monday.

The delegation are comprised of Mr. Alexander Samuels, chairman of the London and Home Counties Traffic Advisory Committee, who are reviewing speed limits in London, Mr. _Denis O'Neill, an under-secretary at the Ministry, and Col. Arthur Young, Commissioner of the City of London Police.

NEW PERKINS DRIVERS' CLUB

A NEW club for drivers of vehicles with Perkins engines has been formed by F. Perkins, Ltd. A free £100 insurance is offered.

Mr. F. Perkins, chairman and managing director of the company, will be president of the new club, with Capt. A. J. Richardson, deputy chairman, and Mr. W. N. Collins, marketing director, as vice-presidents. Mr. T. R. St. John Browne, general service manager, will be in overall charge of administration of the club.

Membership is free. The club aims to establish closer co-operation between the company and drivers and operators. Owners are entitled to nominate drivers for membership.

OBITUARY

WE regret to record the death on Saturday of MR. W. H. BOWKER. Mr. Bowker, who was 62. was governing director of W. H. Bowker, Ltd., Blackburn. He began in haulage after the first World War, and when his business was nationalized 80 lorries were operated. Mr. Bowker returned to the field just over a year ago, and his company now run 32 vehicles on special A licences, He pioneered the carriage by road of produce from Covent Garden to Lancashire.
