Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE latest manufacturer of maximum-gross goods vehicles to announce models rated to operate at the higher gross weights now permitted is Seddon Diesel Vehicles Ltd., which has just released details of uprated chassis. These include a 16-ton four-wheeler, 22-ton six-wheelers and 28and 30-ton tractive units. In addition there is a new IS-ton four-wheeler and 18and 20-tons gross tractive units.. Details of the models are as follows:— All the models designed for the increased weights as in the new C. and U. Regulations have an air-pressure secondary braking system and on all except an automatic-coupling version of the 18-ton tractive unit brake application is by full air. On the auto-coupled 18-tonner, braking is by a vacuumassisted hydraulic system. On this model, and on a fifth-wheel coupling version with the same g.t.w., a five-speed, constantmesh gearbox is standard, with six-speed overdrive optional. The latter type is standard on the rest of the chassis. The two six-wheelers are available with single-drive or double-drive rear bogie, in the latter case with two-speed driving heads. In both cases four-spring suspension with balance beams is employed.

There is a good degree of standardization between the models in respect of axles and brakes, with the 16-ton fourwheels, the six-wheelers and the tractive units above 28 ton g.t.w. having 6-ton front and 10-ton rear axles and 15.5-in. by 5-in, brakes at the front and 15-5-in. by 7-in, brakes at the rear. Lighter capacity axles and slightly narrower brakes are fitted on the other new models.
