The Minister of Transport has appointed Mr. A. N. Hunt to succeed Sir Patrick Hamilton as chairman of the Transport Users' Consultative Committee for the North-Western Area.
Mr. F. L. Hkk, movements planning manager, North Eastern Region, British Railways, has been elected chairman of the Yorkshire section of the Institute of Transport for 1964-5, replacing Mr. L. M. Sayers, who was assistant manager, N.E. Region, B.R., but has been transferred to London. Mr. E. V. Dyson, general manager of Huddersfield Corporation Transport, has been elected a vice-chairman to fill the vacancy following Mr.Hick's election to the chair. Following the appointment of Mr. P. C. Hunt as traffic manager of Potteries Motor Traction Co. Ltd., Mr. 3. A. Birks has been appointed area manager at Brighton for Southdown Motor Services Ltd. His previous post of Southdown area manager at Eastbourne has been filled by Mr. M. S. Hicks, now assistant to the Brighton area manager.
Mr. R. M. Wynne-Edwards has been appointed as chairman of the Engineering Institutions Joint Council.
