A FINANCE 110USE has lost its hid to recover an impounded vehicle that had been used as security fora loan.At the time it wasseized. t he driver wasdisplaying a hand-written 0-licence on his windscreen.

Wolverhampton-based Mobile Money had sought the vehicle's return on the grounds that the company did not know it was being used without an 0-licence.

Senior traffic examiner Wilma McGraw said the vehicle was impounded on 15 August while carrying a skip. Owner-driver Warren Wigan had said he IA working for Ebony Trailer Services. No 0-licence d was displayed. but there was a piece of paper bead a hand-written 0-licence number belonging to Ebo Trailer Services. The vehicle had been specified Ebony's licence in February but had been remov in June. Ebony director Tracy Long said the compa had considered buying the vehicle from Wigan a had specified it on its licence, but took it off aui deciding not to purchase it.

Wigan had previously used vehicles without 0-licence and sought to conceal it by using someo else's licence, said McGraw Mike Preston, general manager of Mobile Mon said Wigan had secured a £1,000 loan against t vehicle in June. Wigan was in default and the title the vehicle had passed to his company.

However, Preston admitted Wigan had not beer default on the day the vehicle was impounded and had been the owner at that time.
