• by Kevin Swallow Partek Cargotec's Swedish Hiab subsidiary has launched four new loaders: the XS 122, XS 144 and XS 166 (each available in CL, Duo, Pro and HiPro versions (plus the heavyweight truck-crane XS 700. Each XS crane caters for different market sectors: • XS 122: 11-13tm; maximum unit weight, 21 tonnes.

• XS 144: 13-15tm; maximum unit weight, 2.2 tonnes.

• X$ 188: 15-17ttn; maximum unit weight, 2.3 tonnes.

The range has a maxim„— hydraulic outreach of 15.1m.

The base-model CL incorporates the Valve 50 control system: the Space 3000 safety system to monitor crane performance; electronic Overload Protection (OLP) and a choice of basic boom systems without mechanical links or with a second boom link, The Duo version has the CL features plus Automatic Duty Control (ADC) which increases lifting capacity, and choice of boom link options.

The Pro has the manually operated Valve 91, a choice of boom types and integrated Manual Speed Control (MSC).

With the highest specification of all, the HiPro has fully proportional Valve 91 controls, CombiDrive 5000, the Space 5000 safety system and Automatic Speed Control (ASC) providing more power than Pro's MSC, plus electronic Pump Flow Distribution (PFD) for multifunction operation.
