MR. E. W. PRESTON who for the past seven years has been transport engineer of Ushers Wiltshire Brewery, Ltd., has been promoted chief engineer of the company.
MR. L. E. Wia.,Lsotg has been appointed assistant sales manager of the Skefko Ball Bearing Co., Ltd. His former po t as Southampton manager is assumed by MR G. T. BODEN.
MR. I. F. C. Bessvicx, Edinburgh divisional mechanical transport officer. Ministry of Transport, has been appointed North Western divisional engineer of British Road Services, succeeding MR. W. H. SMITH, now rolling stock engineer at B.R.S. headquarters.
MR. A. PECK has become manager of the distribution department of the Mobil Oil Co., Ltd., and has been succeeded as manager of the consumer fuels department by MR. N. P. Husrruy. These appointments follow the assumption of the post of manager of retail divisions by MR. F. R. SQUIRES.
MR. A. P. H. PEtrasoN, executive director in charge of export sales of Simmonds Aerocessories, Ltd., and Firth Cleveland Instruments, Ltd., is visiting Sweden and Denmark. MR. R. G. TANT, technical export sales representative of the Speed Nut division of Simmonds, is to work in co-operation with agents in Scandinavia.
CAPT. R. P. FARRELL has become chairman of the Portsmouth centre of the Institute of Traffic Administration. The vice-chairman is Ma. H. N. PUTMAN. MR. T. H. CAREY has been elected chairman and MR. C. H. KEEN vice-chairman of the Merseyside centre. MR. R. W. TREE is chairman of the London cerrie and MR. F. D. RUSHMAN deputy chairman. The vice-chairriaan is MR. N. T. R. WHITE.

MR. II. A. JESSOP, transport manager of the Birmingham Despatch and Mercury, has become transport manager of Atkinson's Brewery, Ltd., Birmingham.
MR. A. E. MORTON has been appointed home sales and publicity manager of Messrs. Mathew Brothers. He was previously with MacKay Industrial Equipment, Ltd.
MR. J. W. Elias has been re-elected national chairman of the National Conference of Road Transport Clearing Houses. The re-elected vice-chairmen are MR. T. W. JACKSON and MR. R. W. TREE.
Ma. S. G. BiLrrrs has been appointed special sales representative of the newly formed tank division of Bonallack and Sons, Ltd. He was formerly manager of the transport tank division of the A.P.V. Co., Ltd.
MR. S. E. CLOTWORTHY, managing director of the Northern Aluminium Co., Ltd., has been elected president of the Aluminium Development Association, and DR. MAURICE COOK, chairman of the Metals Division of I.C.I., Ltd., vicepresident.
MR. H. L. GINAVEN, director of production of the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co. (Great Britain), Ltd., is shortly to return to the U.S.A. and will be replaced by MR. JOHN Q. SHAUL, whose post as superintendent of one of the Goodyear factories in Akron will be taken over by Mr. Ginaven.
MR. T. Poot.ev, sales director of Expandite, Ltd., has been appointed deputy managing director. MR. E. L. TOWNSEND has joined the board as director in charge of overseas developments, and MR. J. M. Roan, manager of the overseas division, is to take up• an appointment as general manager of F_xpandite (Australia) (Pty.), Ltd. MR. J. M. HumPinuEs has become Scottish area manager, and MR. A. W. MOIGNARD south-east England assistant area manager.
