Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ONE of the most useful items which can he employed in the commercial vehicle garage, where articles of considerable weight have to be dealt with, is the light travelling crane. Such cranes can be utilized for lifting engines and other units from their beds, and they can also be used for carrying heavy .objects from one shop to another. A ii•awback of most of the cranes of this type is that they are somewhat heavy, B14

but this is certainly not the case with the portable jib crane which has been produced by Herbert Morris, Ltd., of Loughborough.

This appliance is of the tubular type, and can be handled with ease by one man. The hoisting gear is fitted with spur gears cut •from the, solid blanks, and the load is sustained at any point automatically, both when lifting and „lowering. One advantage is that the crane can only travel when the steering handle is pulled. When this is let go, it automatically holds the crane in the position required. Roller bearings are provided for the travelling wheels, thus reducing to a minimum the effort required to more the appliance.

Every crane is thoroughly tested with a 50 per cent. overload. It is made in three sizes, ranging from ton to 1 ton, the prices being 233, 239 10s., and £49.
