Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

BOTH MAJORTRADE associations have called on the government to freeze diesel duty while world prices are high and volatile.

The RHA and FTA have teamed up to make a joint preBudget submission. In this they also ask for a system requiring trucks from outside the 1.1K to pay for using our roads — without adding to domestic operators' costs.

The FTA and RI IA have used their submission to remind Chancellor Gordon Brown of the ways in which the UK industry is rendered uncompetitive against foreign operators: "The euro's weakness against sterling means that input costs paid by foreign operators in euros are cheaper relative to UK input costs."

In December the Chancellor agreed that plans for an inflationlinked increase in road fuel duty \ uld be postponed and reviewed again in the 2(X)6 Budget.

The FTA and RHA say that while this move was welcome, oil prices have continued to rise. Other requests include incentives for the early introduction of Euro-5 trucks and action to cut congestion.
