British Car Auctions has opened up its Bedford site for LGV sales. CM went to have a look.

British Car Auctions has completed its first LGV sale at Bedford after opening the site last year. Some 60 trucks were entered from various BCA clients, with threequarters of the lots going under the hammer.

Strong bidding

The 41 1 2.5m site becomes the fifth LGV auction site under the BCA banner. Duncan Ward. UK business development manager for commercial vehicles, says: "BCA Bedford boasts excellent facilities for commercial sales, and with so many blue-chip vendors committing vehicles for this first highly successful event we attracted a large crowd of buyers who bid strongly throughout.

"Customers who entered vehicles on the day were very pleased with the residual values, while those attending to see the site in action were impressed with the facilities" The development has a three-acre blockpaved hard-standing area for 200 trucks. Vendors included Royal Mail, Hill Hire and Salvesen Logistics, and there. were also ex-government vehicles for sale. •
