Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Five-vehicle operator Declan Dooley, who owns Dooley Grab Hire in Crawley. West Sussex, put a new 8x4 700 Series on the road at the beginning of February. It's equipped with a Thompsons body and top-of-the-range Palf inger grab.

It's early days for the 410hp Hino, but Dooley has been impressed enough to order another example equipped with a beavertail body.

"I had intended to have a Foden," says Dooley, "but when they announced they weren't making them any more it stopped that. I looked at Scania, Volvo and Daf, but went for Hino. I went along to the dealer with a man who was looking for a second-hand truck, saw a new Nino there and was very impressed.

"The dealer said that it could get me a truck ready for the road within two weeks. Scania was quoting me four months' delivery time. They were as good as their word and had the vehicle painted, bodied and ready for work in a fortnight."

In addition to that fast delivery, Dooley reckons he made a significant saving compared with the Scania or Volvo, although the two Swedish trucks were priced with highroof cabs that are not yet available from Hino.

"I've been driving the truck on nights and it's a great vehicle to drive," he adds. "I rate it very highly. There's plenty of room in the cab and the quality is excellent."
