• The secretary of the Freight Transport, Association, Mr G. Turvey, will speak on a resolution being put to the annual meeting of the National Federation of Women's Institutes in the Albert Hall on March 8.
The WI executive committee is moving the resolution, worded: "That this meeting, in the interests of rural life and the environment, urges the Government to formulate a comprehensive transport policy with special regard to the present disparity in expenditure on roads and railways".
Also speaking will be Mr A. Percival of the Civic Trust.
