APARTY of 17 Scottish businessmen connected closely with heavy haulage, flew to Amsterdam last Friday to visit the Dutch Commercial Vehicle Show. Among those in the party were Messrs. Robert and Ernest Sanderson of Millburn Motors, Ltd., Mr. Charles Alexander of Aberdeen, Mr. James Allison of Dundee, Mr. James Kemp of Leslie, Mr. Stewart McMillan of James Hemphill, Ltd., and his son Gordon, and other transport specialists. The visit had been arranged in conjunction with the York Trailer Co., Ltd.
The main object of the visit was to lay the foundation for a closer liaison and collaboration with some of the Continental hauliers in view of the impending entry of Britain into the European Common Market and also to get firsthand knowledge of the problems of Continental haulage,
