SINCE the first Perkins mobile school arrived in Canada on October 31 last, it has travelled over 6,000 miles, giving Canadian mechanics instruction in the maintenance of Perkins oil engines.

The real test of the school's reliability began at Windsor, where it was deaided by Mr. H. L. Parish, chief instructor, and Mr. W. I. W. McNaughton, Canadian representative of F. Perkins, Ltd., to attempt the journey to Winnipeg via the Trans-Canada Highway—a journey of 1,700 miles over ice-bound roads.

For the whole journey, which was run at an average of 30.2 m.p.h., the fuelconsumption rate worked out at 17 m.p.g.
