The staff of the L.G.O. Putney depot held its first annual dinner and smoking concert at the nailway Hotel, Putney, on Saturday,. the 25th ult. Mr. W. I. Johnston, the district engineer, presided, and he was supported by Mr. H. Kishere, the newly-appointed superintendent. Mr. D. Duff, jun., proposed the toast. of "The Company," to which the chairman replied. Mr. Engledow toasted "The Visitors," and the response was in the hands of Mr. Burford (supt. Farm Lane). Amongst the visitors were Messrs. Cuddon (Walthamstow), B. Brooks and Cozens (Mortlake), and Macdonald (Farm Lane). Letters of regret were read from Messrs. H. Darby (district engineer), P. Holt (supt. Acton), F. Holt (Mortlake), H. Lansdowne (headquarters), and A. W. Windsor (THE CommanciAr, MoToR). The arrangements reflected great credit on the organizers, and the concert was of considerable merit. A proposal was made that an athletic club should be formed by the employees of the company.
