Laurie Dealer could sit and trade 7.5-tonners all day without blinking an eye or turn enough profit for more teabags: the market is awash with them. An 18-tonner, on the other hand, does the business and always brings a good margin as it is one of the quietest sectors going. Apart from the rental giants, who buy and rent or contract hire out the majority of these trucks, sourcing an 18-tonner from the open market is tough going.
Demand always outstrips supply, and rental businesses know this. Occasionally, a rich seam, not unlike diamonds, is found and used truck operators duly cash in and get the best teabags money can buy.
