An indicator for checking the strength of either methanol or ethylene glycol based anti-freezes is announced by Granville Chemic.al.
The indicator uses a special fluid to which a sample of coolant is added. If there is insufficient anti-freeze in the coolant the red indicator fluid floats, if there is too much it sinks but if the strength is correct the liquids mix.
