On the passenger front, Peter Shipp is the Northern General's new assistant traffic manager. He is moving from Sputhdown Motor Services where he was their eastern divisional manager.

Mr Shipp joined North Western as a trainee but his first appointment was as traffic superintendent at Brighton with the Southdown company and he moved to his present job in 1972.
