PROCTOR, at present deputy secretary (inland transport), will take over the shipping side of the Ministry when Sir Norman retires and Mr. Stedman will take over from Mr. Proctor.

CotE. G. Dtrrfino has been elected to fill one of the seven vacancies on the Court of Assistants of the Worshipful Company of Carmen.

MR. NORMAN TATTERSALL has been appointed chief engineer of Leyland Motors (Ministry of Supply) factory. He will relinquish his present position as chief engineer of Leyland Motors, Ltd., so that he can concentrate on Tank design and development. MR. V. W. PILKINGTON, director in charge of engineering, will continue to take full control of the engineering division of Leyland Motors, Ltd.

MR. K. W. FIDLER has been appointed communications manager of Shell-Mex and 11.P., Ltd. Other appointments announced by the company are: MR. L. H. RALPH, assistant manager, staff department; MR. C. S. MARTIN, fuel oil manager, London; MR. H. C. BEAUFOY, manager, North Wales; MR. A. E. J. COBURN, manager, St. Leopards Wharf and Silvertown installations; MR. D. H. M. ALL adult male workers in the bodybuilding industry are to receive an advance of 21d. an hour in pay under an award of the Industrial Disputes Tribunal. Female workers and juveniles will receive proportionate increases.
