Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AFTER a lorry lost two of its rear wheels in Perthshire the driver carried on 50 miles to Edinburgh before he discovered the loss. At Perth Sheriff Court Roderick Noble, 26, of Muir of Ord, Ross-shire, the driver, and Highland Haulage Ltd, of Inverness, the owner, admitted that the pair of wheels, which struck another lorry, had been in a dangerous condition.

Both driver and firm were admonished by Sheriff Harold Ford after he was told that the lorry was well maintained and that the wheels had sheared off because of unpredictable metal fatipe.
