CAR COLLECTION SERVICE EXPAN DS

NEW depots at North Side, Alfred Dock Birkenhead, and 22, Hallfield Road, Bradford, have been opened by

the Car Collection Co., Ltd. The managers are, respectively, Mr. V. V. Packham and Mr. F, E, Saward.

Export storage depots are now in operation at Chorleywood, Herts; Harefield, Middlesex; Amersham, Bucks; Maida Vale. London; and Avonmouth Docks. These premises afford a total of more than 100,000 sq. ft of storage space.

The North British Rubber Co., Ltd., has taken premises at Royal Court Buildings, Bigg Market, Newcastle-onTyne, with Mr. L. Corbet as manager.

U.S. TYRE OUTPUT UP

ACCORD1NG to the chairMan of the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co., the production of commercialvehicle tyres in the United States in 1947 exceeded 17,000,000, or 1,000,000 more than in 1946. Total output was estimated at some 78,000,000 tyres, compared with 66,000,000 in 1946.

TIME RATES COMPILED BY MINISTRY OF LABOUR

ASERIES of tables showing, for the more important industries and occupations, time rates of wages fixed by voluntary agreements made between organizations of employers and workpeople, by Joint Industrial Councils, by similar bodies or by Statutory Orders, has been compiled by the Ministry of Labour. The publication includes arrangements made under the Road

Haulage Wages Act. It is entitled "Time Rates of Wages and Hours of Labour, 1st September, 1947," and costs 2s. 6d., from the Stationery Office.
