VOLVO LINKS WITH BODYBUILDERS • Four regional seminars, aimed at building better ties with bodybuilders and chassis converters, are planned by Volvo Trucks. The seminars will include details of what the company offers, the technical support it can provide and product liability legislation. Venues are Bracknell, Birmingham, Huddersfield and Edinburgh on 4, 5, 6 and 7 April, starting at 12 noon and finishing with dinner at 18:00 hrs.

FOOD HYGIENE • Transfrigoroute is planning a one-day meeting on 1 March to discuss hygiene in refrigerated transport in the light of the recent listeria and salmonella scares. The meeting will include speeches from a consultant on food hygiene from the Department of Health, and a representative from a supermarket chain.

Transfrigoroute will also be establishing a working party to look into food hygiene, to produce recommendations for the transport of refrigerated and frozen foods.
