The Comets are destined for Tanzania, where they will he fitted with truck and bus bodies at Leyland Daf's Dar es Salaam factory. Some will be exported complete with Edbro tipping gear.

Leyland Daf says that around 2,000 Comets have now been sold. "Our success with the Comet has proven our approach with a dedicated vehicle," says the company.

The latest order will bring the number of Comets operating in Tanzania to 400, making that country the biggest customer for the vehicle.
