The sleeper cabs, authorised by Steyr, are onepiece glass-fibre units specially built by Jennings Coachworks of Crewe.

A single bunk is fitted to the rear of the standard day cab, with some storage space beneath the bunk. All the interior panels are finished in matching trim and there is no change to the existing roof vents.

The sleeper cab adds 80kg to the vehicle's kerb weight, and boosts the cost of the 17-tonne Steyr, the 154kW 17S21, by £1,800 to 28,920. The sleepercabbed 100kW 13S14 costs 222,200; the 13S18 is £23,260 and the 17S18 is £27,260 (all ex-VAT).
