Thomas G. McLaughlin, an Armagh businessman, has been appointed chairman of the Ulster Transport Authority in succession to the late Sir Arthur Algeo. And R. Norman Crawford, managing director of the McNeill Group, Belfast, has been made chairman of the Northern Ireland Transport Holding Co., which is being set up under the Transport Act (N.I.) 1967. Sir George Harriman, chairman-elect of British Leyland Motor Corporation, has been appointed leader of the Anglo-Soviet joint working group for the motor and components industry. Soviet leader in the group is Nikolai Strokin, deputy Minister of the Automobile Industry, USSR. 113MC plans for a car plant in Russia arid LMC plans for a bus/lorry factory there will now be pursued jointly./ N.
