• Scottish Omnibuses Ltd. will be operating eight 3911 44in.-long p.s.v. on its EdinburghLondon service by this autumn. The company's application for the service had an unopposed hearing before the Scottish Traffic Commissioners last week. Granting the application, Mr. A. B. Birnie, chairman, said that there had been no reaction to the application by local authorities.

"It is rather vexing to find that these notices of proceedings—in this case at any rate—appear not to be scrutinized with the care we expect", he said. "I have noticed other eases of this happening where we have granted something where no objections or representations are made and then are faced with a barrage of letters from the public or public authorities."
