Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE application of Jones Transport Services (Liverpool), Ltd., involving a switch of 30 vehicles from Contract A to A licence, was further adjourned to next Friday at Manchester last Monday.

The previous Wednesday B.R. and B.R.S. representatives from the principal industrial areas of Britain had gathered at Manchester to object to the application. Also objecting are over 100 hauliers.

At the start of the resumed hearing last week Mr. G. H. P. Beames, for the B.T.C., said that he would be calling 14 witnesses from Scotland, London, Newcastle, Bristol, Cardiff, the Potteries, Yorkshire and the North-West. He would show how the return loads into Lancashire, which would be permissible if the application were granted, would have an adverse effect on rail facilities.
