EVEN before 1913, upwards of 300 patents had been granted covering gas turbines. This fact is revealed in The Industrial Gas Turbine," one of the Technical Trends Series of books recently published by Temple Press Ltd.. Bowling Green Lane, London, E.C.1.
The historical survey contained in the early chapters probably represents the most complete of its kind ever written and in consequence is of absorbing interest. The student of road transport will find many interesting references, including those to the gas-turbine car built by the Rover Company, and to the Boeing model 502 unit, the first gas turbine used to power a commercial vehicle.
