A Simple Form of Buyers' Guide which Gives Important Data of Value to the Prospective Purchaser, Salesman and Bodybuilder. The Latest Types of Petrol and Oil-engined Chassis and Trolley-bus

IN the large majority of cases those who have cause to consult a buyers' guide do not wish to be confused by a mass of detail; their demands are for brevity and lucidity, coupled with the provision of the essential data.

Bearing in mind the circumstances in question, we place before our readers our annual list of passengercarrying chassis, in a new and simplified form. In the case of each make, where there is more than a single type, the models are placed in rising order of seating capacity ; where there are two or more chassis of similar seating capacity that with the smaller number of cylinders is placed first.

In the first and larger section are included machines powered by petrol engines or oil engines ; the subsequent section deals with electric trolley-buses of a wide variety of types.

The inclusion in this list of any particular chassis does not necessarily mean that it complies with regulations as to use in this country ; in certain cases models are primarily intended for service in other lands, where greater latitude is allowed in respect of dimensions, etc. It must be remembered that The Commercial Motor has a world-wide circulation, therefore this list Is of interest to others beside British buyers.

For each chassis model we give the maker's designation, seating capacity, engine type and capacity-.-also similar details in respect of optional power units, whether petrol or oil-and the various prices for the chassis, with each type of engine offered. Important data, which interest both the buyer and coachbuilder, are the chassis length and width (overall), body space behind dash, wheelbase, chassis weight, frame width and frame height (both at the centre and at the rear overhang, when laden).

In the form given definite chassis can be compared with ease and accuracy ; the same sequence of items is used throughout and the abbreviations employed are clearly explained in the note at the top of the next page.
