Glasgow's New Order.

There was a certain amount of opposition at the last meeting of the Watching and Lighting Committee, bat, on a division, only two members voted against the proposal.

County Fire Brigades.

Negotiations between the PoliceCommittee of Dundee Town Council and a committee of the Forfar Count.y Council are proceeding satisfactorily, liVhert tile Dundee Brigade gets &livery of its new motor fire-engine and pump, it is likely chat the engine will be allowed to ,Ittend fires in the Dundee, Forfar :Ind Arbroath districts of the county, in iecchange fir a standing charge of probably #2100 per annum. The Comity Council will also' defray the ordinary fire-brigadb charges in respect of actual calls. We hope that other county councils will soon take uction.
