Passing Along An Order.

A correspondent tells us of a case of sonic interest svhich occurred a few days ago at Portsmouth. IL appears that a driver, who was plying for hire ou one of the ranks, agreed to be at a certain house in sufficient time to enable the hirer to catch a certain train. Meantime, hor, ever, this same driver secured another and a longer job, viz., to Whale Island ; the previouslyhooked (inter lie missed on to another man—a procedure which is frequently adopted. The second driver started in plenty of time to pick up the fare hut something went wrong with tlic cab and he was unable to reach tle house in time. The hirer smumono2 driver No. 1 for breach of eontract, and he obtained a conviction with a fine of 5s. at the Portsmouth Police Court. Hirers should carefully note particulars of such contracts,
